This office is amazing! My hygienist Jennifer, was great with me and very understanding about my anxiety about being there. She was helpful, friendly and explained things to me in a way no one ever has before. I was completely comfortable and would highly recommend this practice to anyone, especially if you have anxiety or haven’t been to the dentist in a while! The Doctor was great also, although my time with him was much shorter. He was knowledgeable and friendly.
Starting going to Dorr Family Dentistry in Dec. 2019 (sadly after years of not seeing a dentist). Not once did we feel looked down on for it being so long since seeing a dentist. They made both my husband and I feel very welcome and comfortable. They have worked with us to get our dental care back on track.. The office staff is always friendly and super helpful. Wisdom teeth come in years after your other teeth. This can mean there just isn’t enough room for them in your jaw, which can cause pain and crowd your other teeth. It’s also not uncommon for wisdom teeth to only partially emerge from your jaw. This makes you more susceptible to tooth decay and gum disease.
You can expect to experience tenderness and swelling for several days. You’ll want to relax and avoid any type of strenuous physical activity. We’ll offer you instructions on diet, dental hygiene, and other elements of recovery. Swishing gently with lukewarm salt water will keep your extraction sites and mouth clean. Complete recovery takes up to two weeks.
We recommend removing wisdom teeth before the age of 25 if possible. Before then, your tooth roots and bones are more flexible, which means a faster recovery. We use 3-D imaging to reveal problems such as impacted wisdom teeth and teeth that are coming in sideways. If we see such complications, it’s best to remove the wisdom teeth ASAP. We may refer you to a specialist for these more complex extractions.
