Cleanings and Oral Exams: Cleanings and exams keep your teeth and gums healthy, and catch early signs of dental problems.
Oral Cancer Screenings: In addition to an oral exam, both the hygienist and dentist perform oral cancer screenings as part of your routine exam as a complementary service each and every regular visit.
Periodontal Cleanings: Also known as a “periodontal maintenance”, these cleanings are for those with a history of periodontal disease with bone and gum loss, and are often more involved than a basic cleaning.
Fluoride: At Dorr Family Dentistry, we view Fluoride as a tool, like a medicine, to help those with high dental decay rates become healthier. Fluoride is not for everyone, but can be very beneficial for the right individuals.
Diet Analysis: Diet and oral health are leading causes of dental decay and periodontal disease. As a complementary service, we offer a diet analysis for anyone who is interested in making lasting changes to their diet and oral health to decrease their dental decay rate, and to treat active periodontal disease.
Scaling and Root Planing: Also known as “deep cleanings”, scaling and root planing is a common way to treat active periodontal disease. If left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to bone and gum loss, causing early tooth loss. Active periodontal disease is also directly related to a number of systemic conditions including heart and kidney disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, asthma, and several forms of cancer.
Splint Therapy: Bite splints are used for a variety of reasons. They can be used to help prevent tooth grinding and attrition, protect the dentistry that you have had done such as veneers or crowns, prepare for future dentistry such as full mouth reconstruction, to treat TMJ issues, and to relieve muscle fatigue in the head and neck area.
***In addition to the above services, there are other less common procedures that we offer. If you have any questions, please reach out to our office.
